As you may know, the new teaching style known as common core is being implemented in schools across the United States as we speak. Common core is a new set of standards for teaching and education that is supposed to better prepare students for college and the future. It is focused more on mastering skills and working through problems rather than memorization. This new set of standards will be tested not by multiple choice, but by writing and explaining. As a sophomore in high school, I think that this new set of standards is much better than multiple choice because it gives students the opportunity to shine and show if they really know the right answer or not. It will definitely create a barrier between those who get the concepts and those who don’t.
Putting can be a pain in the butt and it is always extremely frustrating when you miss those short putts or lip out birdies. I’m always struggling with my putting and I decided to create a list with what I think to be the most useful putting drill.

I recently watched the movie After Earth; which features Will Smith. Although it was a pretty good movie, what really stood out to me was the message conveyed throughout the movie. Will Smith says to his son, “Fear is not real. It is a product of thoughts you create. Do not misunderstand me. Danger is very real. But fear is a choice.”
This quote is extremely deep and really opened my eyes to what fear really is. The only place that fear can exist is in our thoughts of a future. It is a product of our imagination causing us to fear things that do not at present and may not ever exist. When we really think about this, we realize that fear is just driving us crazy and causing us to make decisions based on our imagination.
